Reservoir Dogs Trail Run : San Pablo Reservoir, Orinda CA
The Reservoir Dogs Trail Run takes place at San Pablo Reservoir on East Bay Municipal Utility District trails and offers multiple trail distances around the watershed. The event uses the San Pablo Reservoir Visitor Center as the start and finish location and has a total capacity of 300 runners across all distances.
Distances:
- 35K - 23 miles, ~2,500 ft elevation gain
- Half Marathon - 14 miles, ~1,400 ft elevation gain
- 10K - 6.2 miles, ~425 ft elevation gain
- 5K - 3.1 miles, ~200 ft elevation gain
The course runs mostly on dirt trails and fireroads with gently rolling hills, single-track sections, and open fire roads. Hiking poles are permitted. Courses are marked with colored ribbon roughly every 200 meters, with concentrated signage at turns; blue ribbon indicates a wrong way.
Aid stations provide a variety of foods and beverages and basic first aid items. Runners are encouraged to carry at least one 20oz bottle because distances between aid stations vary. The event is cupless so runners must carry their own cup or bottle; reusable cups and soft flasks are available for purchase on site. Drop bag services are not available.
Races are chip timed with disposable chips attached to the back of bibs. Dogs are not permitted. Volunteers receive a race shirt, food, and credit toward future events. Awards include overall trophies, age group medals, finisher medals, and a Dead Last Finisher award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
