Reservoir Dogs Trail Run - Orinda, CA - October 10, 2026
The Reservoir Dogs Trail Run, organized by Inside Trail Racing, takes place on EBMUD lands around the San Pablo and Briones Reservoirs in Orinda, CA. The event offers multiple trail distances and routes that circle reservoir shoreline and surrounding watershed lands, using single-track and open fire roads.
Distances:
- 35K
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Most of the course follows permit-only EBMUD trails, with a mix of rolling hills, tree-covered single-track, and stretches of open terrain. The route passes through dense, shady woods on the reservoir's south side, a mostly flat shoreline section shaded by oak, and climbs into more exposed hills that provide extended views.
The Start and Finish are at the San Pablo Reservoir Visitors Center. Parking is available on site for a $7 fee; the park prefers exact change. Dogs are not permitted. The event has a total capacity of 300 runners and the 35K race has a 6.5 hour time limit.
Aid stations supply a range of food and drink including energy gels and chews, stroopwafels, trail mix, sandwiches, fruit, soda, water, and Skratch Labs hydration mix; basic first aid items are available but no anti-inflammatory medication. Runners are advised to carry at least one 20 oz bottle. Race shirts use a tri-blend performance fabric and to guarantee a shirt and size registration must be completed by September 26, 2026. Awards include trophies for top overall finishers, finishers medals for all, and age-group medals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
