Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals
The Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals is a fundraising event presented by Meredith Village Savings Bank that benefits the Seacoast Science Center Marine Mammal Rescue program. The event centers on a chip timed 5K trail race at Odiorne Point State Park and includes kids fun run options. The 5K course traverses varied terrain through forest, along a rocky shore, across a sandy beach, and past historic military fortifications, with views of the Gulf of Maine and Little Harbor.
Distances:
- 5K chip timed trail race
- 300-yard dash for ages 1–7
- 1/2-mile run for ages 8–12
The 5K trail is not stroller friendly. Dogs are not allowed in Odiorne Point State Park. Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult on the 5K.
Race shirts are moisture wicking, offered in adult sizes; the first 150 registrants receive a complimentary shirt and shirts are also available for purchase for $20 during registration. Prizes are awarded to the fastest male and female overall and to top finishers in each age group.
Participants may create fundraisers through PledgeReg to support Marine Mammal Rescue. Fundraising rewards include merchandise and Hydro Flasks for individuals and groups meeting set thresholds.
