About the race
Red Run Day is a community event held at Enoggera Reservoir in D'Aguilar National Park, The Gap, Brisbane, in honour of Remembrance Day. The event comprises an 8.5 km trail run, jog and walk on wide fire trails around the forested shores of the reservoir, with sections of rough terrain and some short hills. The route passes through bushland with lake views and eucalyptus-scented air. Participants receive a race bib, a Red Run medal and a Trek2Health bandana.
Trek2Health provides support along the route with staffed aid stations for water, roaming medical personnel in 4x4 vehicles and a trek crew familiar with the D’Aguilar ranges. After the event there is real coffee and a complimentary barbecue provided by a local Lions Club. Entry requires online registration and a ticket cost of $10. Trekkers are asked to raise at least $90 through their fundraising page; reaching a combined total of $100 including the entry fee qualifies fundraisers for a Red Run shirt.
Additional fundraising rewards include an official wilderness jacket and other apparel at higher fundraising tiers, and recognition for top fundraisers. Funds raised support stigma free mental wellness services for Queensland veterans and frontline personnel delivered by Trek2Health. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
