About the race
Herold Wine Farm hosts the Red Men Trail Run at Herold, George Municipality, Western Cape. Runners can choose between three course lengths, all starting and finishing at the farm. The setting is the north facing slope of Cradock Peak in the Outeniqua Mountains, with vineyards bounded on three sides by nature reserve and slopes covered in fynbos.
Distances offered:
- 5 km Fun Run
- 12 km Trail Run
- 18 km Trail Run
Entry fees and inclusions vary by distance. The 5 km entry includes a finishers medal. The 12 km and 18 km entries include a finishers medal, two water tables on course, and a bottle of custom-labeled Herold wine for pre-entries. The event is limited to 200 entries; late entries are accepted up to that limit. Entries close 2 January 2027 at 17:00.
Picnic meals are available to book in advance until the listed deadline and come in three options: a sandwich box with drink and muffin, a burger with chips, or a charcuterie-style picnic with cheeses, biltong and accompaniments. The event format is solo. Route names available are 5 km Trail, 12 km Trail, and 18 km Trail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
