Rasselbock Backyard Ultra Sherwood Pines 2027
The Rasselbock Backyard Ultra at Sherwood Pines Forest Park (NG21 9JL) takes place on 27 March 2027 during the Easter holidays. The event follows the backyard ultra format: competitors start a new lap each hour and the race continues until only one runner begins a further lap. Each lap measures about 4.19 miles (6.74 km) and runs on a mix of forest singletrack and access roads with natural and gravel surfaces.
Entries for this edition are sold out and a waiting list is used for additional runners. The organiser charges a £15 fee for name transfers and does not offer refunds after 14 days from sign-up; transfers must be completed by 20 February to allow the start list to be finalised.
On-site provisions include an aid station with water, squash, hot water, sweets and fruit, dedicated first aiders, a support crew area with space for a tent, free parking for one vehicle per entry, full chip timing with live results, and event live-streaming. Prizes include free entries for the winner and for athletes who break certain records, plus trophies for winners and for the furthest male and female distances. The route may be adjusted if required by the Forestry Commission but will retain similar length and character.
