Raid the Hammer Adventure Run

The Raid the Hammer Adventure Run takes place in Waterdown, Ontario. This event combines road running, trail running, navigation, and trekking in a point-to-point format. The course features various terrains, including mud, rock, and steep inclines.

Participants compete in teams of two or three people. The event includes two main course options:

  • Raid: A 20-25 km course requiring intermediate trail running and trekking skills, along with intermediate to advanced navigation.
  • Half-Raid: A 10-15 km course requiring intermediate trail running and beginner to intermediate navigation.

Categories for the full Raid include Open, Coed, Female, and Masters (average age over 45). The Half-Raid includes these same categories plus a Junior category for participants aged 16 and under.

Registration fees cover race maps for each participant, timing chip rental, and post-race hot food. Participants also receive event gear such as a T-shirt, socks, or a headband. A day membership to DontGetLost Adventure Running is included to provide race insurance. All participants must carry specific required gear and follow the established adventure running rules. No pets are permitted on the race course or at the registration area.

Buses are used to transport participants from the meeting area to the start locations. Awards are presented to the first-place teams in all categories, with additional awards for the top three teams in categories with at least ten entries.
