Raid the City Adventure Run
Raid the City is a team navigation race in Hamilton on August 30, 2026. It is a 3 hour event for teams of two who navigate by map and visit scored checkpoints placed across the city. Checkpoints appear on trails, roads, alleyways and parks and are assigned point values based on difficulty.
Teams may use GPS watches, phones, compasses or other navigation tools, provided travel is on foot. Motorized transport, public buses and shared bicycles are not permitted. Teams must stay within visual sight and be able to communicate verbally with each other at all times. Normal road rules apply and entry to private property is not allowed. Race numbers must be visible at all times. Pets are not allowed on course or at registration.
Categories are Teams of 2 in Male/Open, Coed, Female, Masters, Super Masters and Family/Junior. Ages are the teammates ages as of December 31, 2026. Masters teams require a combined age of 90 or more. Super Masters teams require a combined age of 120 or more. Family/Junior teams pair one adult with one youth aged 18 or under.
Entry deadlines are Early by July 1, Regular by August 12 and Late by August 26. Fees vary by category and deadline and include race maps, race app access, post-race hot food, event gear and a one day DontGetLost membership for insurance. Fees do not include online transaction charges or HST.
A smartphone with the Goosechase Adventures app is mandatory and should hold enough battery for three hours. There are no official aid stations so teams must carry their own food and drink; cash or card is recommended for purchases in the city. Awards are given to first place in all categories and to the top three where categories have at least ten entries, plus draw prizes from sponsors.
