Ragnar Trail South Cascades Individual
This trail event takes place at Willamette Pass Resort near Crescent Lake, Oregon, and features trails that pass volcanic peaks, alpine lakes, and wildflower-dotted ridgelines. The venue includes ski-resort amenities, on-site camping options, and a central Ragnar Village area with a bonfire, music, yoga, and awards.
Course options include a shorter Red Loop and a longer loop used by timed ultras. The Red Loop climbs approximately 1,611 feet over about 6.9 miles, reaching the summit of Eagle Peak with views of nearby peaks and Odell Lake. The full course loop measures about 14.7 miles with a total elevation gain of about 3,280 feet; timed races allow participants to complete as many loops as they can within the event window.
On-site amenities and nearby services include an indoor restaurant and bar with outdoor seating, indoor bathrooms and portable restrooms, local food vendors, scenic gondola rides, and a disc golf course. Lodging and sleeping options near the resort include cabins, campgrounds, RV sites, glamping, and tent rentals. Travel access notes list Eugene Airport at about a 90 minute drive and Redmond Municipal Airport at about a 2 hour drive.
Typical weather for this time of year is generally sunny with afternoon highs often in the mid 60s to mid 70s Fahrenheit and nighttime lows in the 50s, so layered clothing is recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
