Event Overview
The Race for Reading takes place at Potawatomi Wildlife Park in Tippecanoe, Indiana. This event features a timed 5K run and walk alongside a shorter Fun Run. The course is designed to take participants through various sections of the park, including wooded areas and prairie landscapes.
The event is held in partnership with the Potawatomi Wildlife Park fall fest, which includes additional food and activities on-site. Participants who register by November 3, 2026, are guaranteed an event T-shirt.
Distances and Course Information
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The Fun Run distance is slightly less than 1 mile and follows the fence row surrounding the pavilion, where the race begins and ends. The 5K course utilizes the natural terrain of the park.
Awards and Recognition
For the 5K race, awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers. Recognition is also given to the first, second, and third-place finishers in various age groups, ranging from 15 and under to 55 and over. Participants in the Fun Run are recognized with awards for the top three girls and the top three boys.
