Rabbit Run - Ballycastle
Rabbit Run takes place on 13th February 2027 in Ballypatrick Forest, Ballycastle. The event offers three distance options:
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
The course is mostly off road (98 percent), traffic free, and fully marked with direction arrows at each turn. The route combines forest track and short sections of tarmac through the forest. The Half Marathon is a single circular route; the Full Marathon consists of two complete loops of the same course. The 10 km is a single out-and-back loop within the forest. A GPX file of the course is provided for use with GPS devices. The start location is given as what3words ///eternally.rectangular.anode.
Organisers operate a strict no trace policy and do not supply disposable cups or bottles. Participants must be self-sufficient and carry refillable bottles or a water bladder and enough food and drink to cover at least the half marathon distance. There is one water refill station at approximately 6 miles for all runners; marathon runners may refill at the same location before starting their second lap. For 10 km runners water is available only at the start and the finish.
Additional details: cut-off time is seven hours, race number collection is on the day from 7.30am, entrants must be 18 or over. Included with entry are a medal, insurance, timing, medical cover, and post-race refreshments. Parking at the carpark is extremely limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
