About the race

The Wiltshire Winter Adventure Race takes place on Saturday 14 November 2026 at Chalke Valley Sports Centre, Broad Chalke, SP5 5HX, Wiltshire. The event combines trail running and mountain biking on marked trail terrain as the opening round of the 2026/27 winter series.

Racing uses a score format: competitors use a map and compass to navigate to as many checkpoints as possible within the time limit. There are no fixed distances; participants choose which checkpoints to visit and how far to run and bike. Entry options include a run-only event (up to 2 hours), a bike-only event (up to 3 hours), a Duo Taster run-and-bike (up to 3 hours) and a Duo Full run-and-bike (up to 5 hours). Entries are available for solos and teams of 2, 3 or 4. Published entry fees start from £30.

Bike hire is available at the event; hire packages list a 9/10 speed hardtail mountain bike, helmet and basic tools by request, puncture protection, on-site support and a damage waiver. Anyone using an e-bike must declare it before the start and will be classified as non-competitive. A proportion of participants are new to adventure racing, and mandatory safety kit is required for all competitors.

Onsite facilities include participant parking, an indoor hall for shelter, catering for hot and cold food and drinks, and toilets, showers and changing areas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
