About the race
Queen Elizabeth Country Park Trail Run takes place at Queen Elizabeth Country Park on the South Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Petersfield, Hampshire. The event uses the park’s hard-packed off-road trail network and nearby routes, including ancient woodland at Head Down, the South Downs Way, the Milky Way trail, and War Down with tree-lined gravel tracks. The course covers a mix of surfaces and views across the park and surrounding downs.
There are three route options with published elevation gains:
- 21.6 km Half Marathon, elevation gain +424 m
- 15.2 km Medium route, elevation gain +328 m
- 7.9 km Short route, elevation gain +161 m
The event is chip timed and the organiser provides a metal finisher medal, a finisher goodie and a refreshing drink, a personalised certificate, first aid cover, on-course refreshments and marshals. The route is fully signed and water stations are provided. The event operates a plastic free policy and requests participants bring a reusable cup or bottle. Parking at the venue is charged at £3 per car.
Practical notes include collecting a running bib on arrival at registration using a QR code and a Canicross option that permits one dog per runner with required items such as waste bags, water and an appropriate lead. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
