Quantock Hills Half Marathon
The Quantock Hills Half Marathon is a trail race held at Kilve Court, SSE Outdoors, Kilve, Bridgewater, Somerset TA5 1EA. The event is a half marathon that follows trails, quiet country lanes and open moorland within the Quantock Hills area.
The course includes steep climbs, technical trail sections through forests, rolling terrain and exposed moorland. Runners should expect stiles, gates, uneven rugged ground and stream crossings where stepping stones or log balances may be used. The event is listed as a UTMB index event.
Course support includes course marshals, two fully stocked feed stations and plentiful signage. Awards are provided for the top three male and top three female finishers, and all finishers receive a large medal.
Organisers worked with the Quantocks AONB service, Natural England and The National Trust on the route. Event facilities offered over the weekend include camping, van parking and basic bunkhouse accommodation. On the Saturday evening a local pizza vendor is present and nearby pubs are available; a fire pit may be used if weather allows. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
