Punk Panther Nidderdale Way

Punk Panther Nidderdale Way is a trail ultramarathon that follows the Nidderdale Way through parts of Yorkshire. The route passes notable locations including Ripley Castle, Brimham Rocks, Scar House Reservoir and How Stean Gorge and lies within an area of outstanding natural beauty. The event offers multiple distances on largely well waymarked paths.

Distances:

  • 13 miles - 1700 ft climb
  • 20 miles - 2800 ft climb
  • 32 miles - 4700 ft climb
  • 55 miles - 7500 ft climb

The four distances carry ITRA points of 1, 1, 2 and 3 respectively and correspond to UTMB qualifying categories Q20K, Q20K, Q50K and Q100K. Minimum age is 18 and the event has a maximum field of 200 entrants; entries have been recorded for the event in advance.

All entrants are supplied with a tracker that must be worn; the tracker includes an emergency button and can be used to view ETAs at checkpoints. Organisers permit safety support runners and allow dogs subject to specific rules. A kit list is enforced and random on-course kit checks may lead to disqualification for missing mandatory items. Competitors register at Pateley Bridge Cricket Club, Pateley Bridge HG3 5HQ.

Checkpoints are located at Lofthouse (6.2 miles), Middlesmoor (15 miles), Wath (21 miles), Pateley Bridge (28 miles), Birstwith (38 miles) and Brimham Hall (49 miles). Finishers receive a medal and event T-shirt unless they opt out; hot food and drinks with vegan and gluten free options are available at the finish.
