About the race
The Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Run is scheduled for October 18, 2026 in Half Moon Bay, California. The event is staged along the Coastal Trail with views of the Pacific coastline and benefits Senior Coastsiders; registration proceeds support programs and services that help older adults on the Coastside live independently and stay connected.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
- Kids Fun Run/Walk
The half marathon includes a 3.5 hour cut off. Every participant receives a pumpkin. The event is capped at 1,500 runners and typically sells out.
Packet pick-up is available at multiple locations beginning up to two weeks before race day, hosted by local partners including A Runner’s Mind, New Leaf Community Market, and Empowered Fitness. Volunteer roles support course direction, packet distribution, medal and goodie bag distribution, bag drop, set-up, and clean-up.
For safety and event operations, pets and emotional support animals are not permitted on the course or in event areas. Service animals recognized under California law are permitted and must remain leashed or harnessed and under handler control; misrepresenting a pet as a service animal is a misdemeanor under California Penal Code § 365.7.
