Presidio Park Orienteering - San Diego
This orienteering event takes place at Presidio Park in San Diego on November 14, 2026. The course area is a 40-acre historic park near the Junípero Serra Museum and offers scenic overlooks and varied terrain. The event uses the Motala format and provides three courses: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The competition map is drawn at a scale of 1:3000 with 3 meter contours.
All participants must pre-register and the event is limited to 75 entrants; registration closes on November 13, 2026 or when the limit is reached. Fees are listed by category: adults $20, juniors (ages 12–20) $10, and children under 12 free; a $5 early bird discount applies through October 31. Electronic punching is required; participants may bring, rent, or purchase an e-punch. Rental e-punches are available for $5. Controls will be AIR+ enabled.
There is a two hour time limit for completing a course and all competitors must return to headquarters and download within that limit so organizers can confirm everyone is safe. An introductory clinic will be offered before the event to teach orienteering basics. Headquarters is near 4299 Cosoy Way, San Diego, CA 92103; the site is a short walk from the Old Town Transit Center. Limited parking is available on Cosoy Road with overflow options nearby.
