24th Annual Potomac River Run Marathon & Half
The event is scheduled for May 1, 2027, at Fletcher's Cove, 4940 Canal Road NW, Washington, DC, on the C&O Canal Towpath. It is organized by Marathon Charity Cooperation and takes place on an out-and-back course alongside the Potomac River.

The course is described as flat, tree-lined, shaded, and scenic, with start and finish at Fletcher's Cove. The route is approximately 99% crushed gravel with two short paved stretches to prevent erosion and has no cross streets. The highest point on the course is 44 m above sea level and the lowest point is 12 m above sea level. Aid stations are provided but close as the last runner approaches; the last aid station at Lock 6 closes at 1:30 PM, and participants are advised to bring their own water if needed.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Pacers Running Store in Arlington and on race morning at Fletcher's Cove with staggered pickup windows to limit crowding. Results for the marathon are reported to the Boston Athletic Association for Boston Marathon qualification. Monetary prizes are offered for the top three finishers and awards are given for age group winners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
