About the race
Portmarnock AC Beach 5K is a community event held on Portmarnock Beach with separate races for different ages. The event program includes:
- Kids Colour-Dash : open to runners aged 8 and under, free to enter with on-the-night sign-up at the beach shelters.
- Juvenile 2 km : open to runners aged 9 to 15 on race day; entry costs €7.50 plus booking fee and requires advance registration.
- Senior 5K : open entry with a fee of €25 plus booking fee; the first 500 senior registrants receive a free t-shirt. Limited late entries may be available on the day for €25 with no t-shirt.
All competitors must have a race number to compete; numbers are issued and can be collected on the night or posted when selected at registration. A bag drop facility will be provided under the beach shelters; a race number must be shown to leave or collect bags and only small bags are accepted. Race photos will be provided by a partner photography service and posted online after the event. Prize money is offered for top senior finishers and masters categories, and public toilet facilities and pay and limited free parking are available near the beach.
