About the race

The Poco Trail Relay is a team relay on the Traboulay Poco Trail in Port Coquitlam held Sunday, September 6, 2026. Teams or solo runners cover four sequential legs with designated exchange points along the route. The start and finish are at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre; exchange points are at Gates Park, Castle Park (bottom of Castle Crescent), and Tinhouse Brewing on the dyke.

Leg distances:

  • Leg 1: 4.1 km from Hyde Creek Rec Centre to Gates Park.
  • Leg 2: 6.3 km from Gates Park to Castle Park; this leg includes a detour because the Sheep Paddock Trail will be closed.
  • Leg 3: 6.1 km from Castle Park to Tinhouse Brewing.
  • Leg 4: 7.4 km from Tinhouse Brewing back to Hyde Creek Rec Centre.

Entry and team format details are specified by the organizer: each runner on a team must register and pay. Team options include four-runner, three-runner, two-runner, and solo entries with different ways to divide the legs.

Logistics notes from the organizer: teams are responsible for their own transportation between exchange points. Water and electrolyte drinks are available at exchange points; support cyclists are allowed on legs 2 to 4 but restricted on leg 1. Parents may accompany registered minors. Race packets may be picked up on Thursday, Sept 3 at Tinhouse Brewing, with a last-minute pick-up at the Poco Run Club tent on race morning.

The final runner collects finisher medals for the whole team; awards include first place medals by team category and prizes for funniest team name and best costume. The finish area hosts a Runner’s Village with sponsors and an after party at Tinhouse Brewing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
