Pleasant Mountain Race
The Pleasant Mountain Race is a trail event in Bridgton, ME, organized by Loon Echo Race Series. The course distance is 21k, starting and finishing at the Pleasant Mountain East Lodge. The event includes a finish-area afterparty with a food truck, live music, and beer from Norway Brewing Co for participants 21 and over. Entry fees change over time: $70 before 5/1/2026, $75 before 9/1/2026, and $80 starting 9/1/2026. Participants who sign up by 9/1 are guaranteed a tech t-shirt; all participants receive a food-truck ticket and a beer ticket (21+). Finishers receive a 2026 Pleasant Mountain Race finisher medal. Proceeds benefit the Loon Echo Land Trust.
The course follows technical single-track and the mountain ridge, with two major climbs: about 1,700 feet of gain in roughly 2 miles up Bald Peak, and about 1,900 feet of gain in roughly 2.5 miles on the Southwest Ridge. The route descends via Firewarden’s Trail and Sue’s Way and returns to Mountain Road. There is one aid station at the Southwest Ridge Trailhead offering snacks, water, and Tailwind. Mandatory gear must be carried and will be checked at bib pickup; required items include at least 500 mL of water, at least 400 calories, a windbreaker or rain shell, a space or emergency blanket, and a headlamp.
