About the race
Pinery Fall Classic 2026 is a community run and walk held on October 18, 2026 at Pinery Provincial Park in Grand Bend, Ontario. The event raises funds for The Friends of Pinery Park to support education, preservation, research, and park enhancement projects.
Distances offered include:
- 2K Road Run/Walk
- 4.8K Trail Run/Walk
- 5K Road Run/Walk
- 10K Road Run
The 4.8K route passes through trail and beach areas and includes rough terrain and stairs. Official chip timing and measured distances are provided for racers. Wheelchair entries are available for the 5K and 10K events. All participants will receive a Pinery Fall Classic medal.
Awards include camp mugs for overall 1st to 3rd finishers in each gender category and small medals for 1st to 3rd in age categories. Age categories are Under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Overall winners are not eligible for age category awards.
Recent park projects supported by the fundraiser include a moth wall, maintenance of rolling boardwalks, an accessible dock, art backpacks, bat detectors for citizen science, habitat stewardship and species at risk research, nature journals, and an eco-passage.
Online registration is available with early bird and regular pricing windows. Same day registration may be available for a CA$10 surcharge. T shirt orders must be placed before Sept. 15, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
