Christmas Gonk
The Phoenix - Cambridgeshire - Christmas Gonk is a timed event held at Grafham Water. The course takes place on a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out and back loop. Participants utilize tarmac cycle paths and a small section of gravel path. The route is characterized by minimal elevation gain and loss, resulting in a relatively flat and fast surface.
This event uses a flexible format where runners select their total distance on the day of the run. Participants can choose to complete a single lap or continue for multiple loops within a six-hour time limit. The structure accommodates a wide variety of distances including:

- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra marathon
The event features a "rock up and run" start window, allowing participants to begin their run at any time within a designated one-hour period. Sweets and seasonal refreshments such as mince pies and chocolates are provided during the event. All finishers receive a themed medal upon completion of at least one lap.
