Perpetua FatAss
Perpetua FatAss is the 13th annual free, self supported trail event organized by Ardor Adventures in Yachats, Oregon on January 9, 2027. The event uses trails around Cape Perpetua and is based at Yachats Commons. Drop bags and post run gear may be left inside the Commons and parking is available on nearby streets.
Distances offered:
- 9 Mile: Climb from Yachats to the Cape Perpetua Lookout and return.
- 20K: Continue from the Lookout to the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center and return.
- about 30K: Decision point at the Visitor Center with route options via Cooks Ridge.
- 50K: Route includes Cooks Ridge, Cummins Ridge, a short Highway 101 segment, then Oregon Coast Trail.
The event is self supported. Participants are responsible for their own food, hydration, clothing, navigation, and gear. Water is available at two locations on the course and at the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center, but these are not traditional aid stations. Maps, GPX files, and course instructions are provided and should be downloaded before the event since cell service may be unreliable. Weather on the Oregon Coast can include rain, wind, mud, and cold, so appropriate preparation is advised.
A post run potluck is held at Yachats Commons where participants may bring a dish or snack to share. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
