Peak Raid Race 1 Hayfield

Peak Raid Race 1 is a fell running event in Hayfield, part of a four-race series in 2026. Each race is run in a score format with a time limit of three hours; competitors receive a waterproof map and a control description with points values and then select their own route to visit as many controls as possible within the time limit. The event uses SiTiming.

Terrain varies across the series and for this race includes Peak District hills, moors and dales. The format requires route choice and navigation skills and can involve high moorland and limestone dales with differing footpath networks.

Competitors may enter solo or as pairs. The minimum age to compete is 14. For pairs and age categories, the category is determined by the age of the oldest competitor and by age on 31/12/2026. There is a parent or guardian & under 18 category with rules about the accompanying adult. Dogs are not permitted.

Mandatory kit follows FRA minimum requirements and will be checked on the day. Required items include waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams and hood, hat, gloves, map (provided), compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag. Prizes are awarded to competitors who complete at least two races in the series, with 1st to 3rd places in categories depending on entry numbers.

Entries open 11 February 2026 and close 17 September 2026 with early, standard and late fee bands. FRA members receive a £2 reduction. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
