Paws in the Park is a 5K run and walk held at the Iowa Arboretum & Gardens, 1875 Peach Ave, Madrid, Iowa 50156. The course starts and finishes at the Arboretum. Participants may begin the course after completing registration and may keep their own time. There is also a "Lazy Dog" registration option for those who cannot attend in person.
Dogs are welcome under specific rules. Dogs will receive bandanas. Each person may bring up to two dogs and those dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Aggressive dogs should be left at home and organizers reserve the right to refuse any dog. Handlers must keep dogs under control and leashes may not exceed six feet.
Registration fees are shown with mandatory processing and taxes. The listed base fees are $30.00 for registrations through 10/04/26 and $35.00 for registrations after that date, with the higher fee noted as shirt not guaranteed. After the event, refreshments and snacks will be available for both humans and canines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
