The event on October 10, 2026, is a community 5K run and walk held at the Iowa Arboretum & Gardens, 1875 Peach Ave, Madrid, Iowa 50156. The course starts and finishes at the arboretum grounds. Registration includes a T-shirt for pre-registered participants; shirts are not guaranteed after October 4, 2026.
T-shirt and packet pickup takes place at the Cafferty Building at the Iowa Arboretum. Upon registration, participants may begin the course when ready and keep their own time.
The event has a dog friendly focus. Dogs receive bandanas. Rules limit handlers to a maximum of two dogs each, require dogs to be up to date on vaccinations, and require handlers to keep control at all times. Leashes may not exceed six feet. Organizers reserve the right to refuse entry to aggressive dogs.
There are multiple registration options, including a standard 5K Run/Walk and a "Lazy Dog" option. After the event, refreshments and snacks will be available for both humans and canines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
