Parallel of Latitude Endurance Race
The Parallel of Latitude is an eight hour fixed time race in Dryden, NY, held at Dryden Lake Park. The event offers an 8-hour solo division and an 8-hour relay division for teams of 2 to 6 people. An optional program of mini parallel of latitudes is available during the final hour inside the park; only complete mini loops count toward mileage and participants or relay teams are responsible for tracking them.
The course is a flat, scenic rail trail alongside Dryden Lake with little to no elevation gain. A single loop is 3.45 miles out and back. One large aid station is available at the start of every loop.
Race headquarters and the start/finish are located at the big pavilion in the park. Parking is provided in designated park spots or by the dam about a quarter mile away. Online pre-registration is required and is open through September 25, 2026; there is no in-person same-day registration. Entry fees range from $35 to $50 USD.
All solo finishers receive a custom concrete finisher stone with their mileage recorded. Top finishers in gender categories and top relay members receive larger concrete stones and additional items. Lifetime miles accumulate across years and earn special awards at designated intervals.
The race course is aligned closely with the 42nd parallel north, the origin of the event name. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
