Painted Horse Urban Ultra
The Painted Horse Urban Ultra is scheduled for February 27, 2027 in Ocala, FL. The event offers looped urban routes with two distance options:

- 25k
Organized by the Where's the Finish? crew, the event is presented as a low-key, self-supported urban adventure rather than a competitive race. The course is navigation heavy and uses turn-by-turn directions provided in a race book. The 55k route visits roughly 40 painted horse public artworks across Marion County, many concentrated in downtown Ocala. The 25k option follows a different route and includes about 25 painted horses, with occasional route intersections between distances.
There is no set time limit for completing the route. Support on course is minimal; there may be some water drops and special treats but participants should plan for largely self-supported navigation. The event format emphasizes sightseeing and scavenger hunt elements as runners move between publicly placed painted horses that were created as part of a local art project.
An associated Painter's Revenge Challenge pairs this event with two other urban ultras and offers commemorative items for completing specified combinations; an extra fee applies for the challenge and separate sign up is required.
