OUTLAST Colorado Springs

OUTLAST is a six hour trail endurance challenge in Colorado Springs where participants run a 5K loop each hour. Each lap must be completed within the hour to continue; missing a lap eliminates a runner. Completing all six laps results in finishing the event. The 6 Hour Challenge covers a total of 18 miles across six 5K laps.

The course is trail based and includes natural terrain, elevation changes, and potentially dirt, rocks, roots, gravel, or some pavement. Aid is available at the basecamp or loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event, so participants must bring their own bottle or hydration system. Participants may set up a tent or personal aid station at the site.

Recognition and prizes are awarded by laps completed and by time. Completing four laps earns a “Grit Earned” patch, five laps a “Survivor” patch, and six laps a premium OUTLAST medal. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST Tee. The top male and female with the fastest combined 5K times at the event receive the 1st Place OUTLAST award. Finishers are ranked on a national leaderboard; the fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6 hour events receives a $1,000 national prize. The top five male and female 6 hour champions from each city earn a place in the Outlast Championship in DFW on December 4, 2027, where additional cash prizes are awarded.
