About the race
The Outlands Endurance Races take place April 17 and 18, 2027, out of Peninsula Campground in Pilot Hill, California. The weekend features trail running and a mountain bike race on remote singletrack along Folsom Lake.
Trail running on Saturday includes three distances:
- 25K run, out and back, 1452 ft of total climbing.
- 50K run, out and back, 3407 ft of total climbing.
- 50 Mile run, out and back to Magnolia Ranch, 6100 ft of total climbing.
All trail courses are runnable on a mix of single track and double wide trails. Aid stations on the runs are stocked with gels, chips, candy, potatoes, bananas, water, and Skratch Hydration. Named aid stations and mile locations are provided for each course, and the 50M has published cut-off points with specific mile markers.
Sunday adds the Outlands 50K mountain bike race spanning 50 kilometers through Salmon Falls Ranch and surrounding terrain, finishing at Peninsula Campground. Riders leave vehicles at the finish and shuttles transport riders to the start at Magnolia Ranch. Aid stations for the ride are at Cronin Ranch (mile 8), Salmon Ranch 1 (mile 16), and Salmon Ranch 2 (mile 21). Ride registration is handled through BikeReg; trail run registration is handled through UltraSignup.
The Space Bunny Challenge recognizes participants who complete any Saturday trail run and the Sunday MTB race with a plaque and jersey. Volunteer shifts earn a $120 credit toward a Bad Luck Run Club race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
