About the race
Ørsta Fjellmaraton is a mountain running event held in the heart of the Sunnmøre Alps. The 12th edition takes place on 5 June 2027 and combines timed competition and a walking event. The organiser describes the event as social and informal and notes a low entry fee. Participants are asked to observe a health duty when meeting others on the course.
The event offers several distances on trails and gravel roads. Distances include:
- 42 km full marathon on mountain terrain
- 21 km half marathon with panoramic views
- 7 km short route on trails and gravel
There is also a children’s race for ages 3–12. The children’s course is about 300–400 m and participants may run multiple laps; all children receive a medal. Registration for the children’s race is handled at the start and information about start times is provided by the organiser on their channels.
