Ontario Orienteering Championships 2026
The Ontario Orienteering Championships take place in Kingston, Ontario on October 17 to 18, 2026. The Event Centre is at The Farm (Mountain Bike Kingston) just north of Kingston and will serve as the hub for on-site camping, Saturday racing, training, and a community BBQ. Camping is available on-site Friday and Saturday nights; fees are listed per person and per family.
The weekend features two mapped areas described as two new maps and two distinct experiences. Saturday offers a fast middle distance race with seven recreational courses and eight competitive age-class courses. A night orienteering event at the Event Centre includes both competitive and recreational courses. Sunday’s race was upgraded from a technical middle to a long distance event and takes place at a separate venue about 30 km north of the Event Centre; it also offers seven recreational courses and eight competitive age-class courses.
Courses carry Technical Difficulty ratings from TD1 to TD5, with TD1 designed for newcomers and TD5 for expert level navigation. Entries are grouped by age categories and open categories; open entries are available to any participant and are not ranked within age classes. All participants must register online before the event; there is no day of event registration. Sportident electronic punching will be used; SI rental fees and a three event rental option are available. Registration windows and pricing tiers run from early registration through final registration, and a weekend package saves approximately 10 percent. Refunds follow stated percentage rules by date.
