The Old County Tops Fell Race

The Old County Tops Fell Race is held in May and covers about 37 miles with roughly 10,000 feet of ascent. The exact distance and amount of ascent depend on the route a competitor chooses.

The course starts in Great Langdale, visits the tops of Helvellyn, Scafell Pike and Coniston, and then returns to Great Langdale. After returning, competitors are fed and watered.

The event was first held in 1988 after a test year involving a few Achille Ratti members in 1987. Results are recorded for many years, with entries listed for seasons from 1988 through recent years.
