NYBG 5K Fun Run

The NYBG 5K Fun Run is a scenic 3.1-mile road and trail course through the New York Botanical Garden that routes runners past garden collections and historic landmarks. The course passes through the Thain Family Forest and the Judy and Michael Steinhardt Maple Collection, and runners move by the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden, Burn Family Lilac Collection, the Lillian and Amy Goldman Stone Mill, Mertz Building, and the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.

The route begins at Daffodil Hill, includes both road and trail surfaces with rolling elevation changes, and finishes near the Native Plant Garden with runners walking along the Mitsubishi Wetland Trail to post-run festivities on Daffodil Hill. This edition of the event introduces approximately one mile of new course terrain compared with the prior year. While the event is non-competitive, clocks are present at the start and finish for those who wish to track time.

Event policies and amenities include one water station at the halfway point, water available at the finish, no strollers permitted on the course, and no bag check. The course is not ADA accessible due to varying elevation and uneven surfaces. The event is produced in partnership with a local run club that will provide course support. Registration includes an All-Garden Pass, run registration, a commemorative T-shirt, and access to post-run music and activities. Participants must be ages 13 and older; minors require permission and accompaniment by a registered adult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
