NYBG 5K Fun Run
The NYBG 5K Fun Run is a scenic 3.1-mile road and trail course through the New York Botanical Garden held to mark the end of Climate Week NYC. The route begins at Daffodil Hill and winds through collections and varied terrain, including a memorable stretch through the historic Thain Family Forest, the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden, the Burn Family Lilac Collection, and alongside the Library and Conservatory. The course finishes at the Native Plant Garden and leads runners back to the Daffodil Hill festivities via the Mitsubishi Wetland Trail.
This non-competitive event is equipped with start and finish clocks for personal tracking, but finish times are not collected by the Garden. The course includes varying elevation and uneven road and trail surfaces and is not ADA accessible. One water station is available at the halfway point and additional water is provided in the post-run area. Strollers are not permitted and there is no bag check; participants may leave belongings in their vehicles and return after the event.
Registration includes an All-Garden Pass for the day, event registration, a commemorative T-shirt, and access to music and activities during the post-run celebration on Daffodil Hill. Participants must be age 13 or older; minors require permission and a registered adult present during their run. Parking is not available inside the Garden but is offered nearby for a fee.
