North Coast 110 / Exmoor Coast 55
This series of coastal ultra events follows the South West Coast Path across North Devon and Exmoor. Routes are self navigation and include GPS tracking. Distances on offer cover long single day and multihour formats with marked route features and transport options to starts.
The longest option, the North Coast 110 miles route, records nearly 6,000 m of elevation gain and requires a prior 50 km finish for entry. The route passes Hartland Quay and Hartland Point, Clovelly, Westward Ho! and the Torridge and Taw estuaries before joining the 110 km line into Barnstaple.
Other options include a 65 km Hartland Coast Ultra from Hartland Quay into Barnstaple, a 114 km North Coast 110 km ultra beginning in Barnstaple, the 58 km Exmoor Coast Ultra from Combe Martin to Minehead, and a new 38 km Exmoor Coast Challenge from Lynton to Minehead open to runners and walkers.
The Exmoor section traverses Exmoor National Park coastline, including extensive coastal woodland and notable high points such as Culbone Hill at 433 m and Great Hangman at 244 m. Some races list ITRA and UTMB index points. Transport options are offered to some start locations and official route GPX files and participant handbooks are provided.
