Torrington Christmas Caper
The event is a mainly off road, multi terrain run of approximately 10 miles starting and finishing at Torrington Rugby Club, Hatchmoor Road, Torrington. The course uses country lanes and woodland trails and may include hills, branches, mud and water crossings depending on weather. Trail shoes are essential.
Some walking is expected on the course, but the event is a run and the organisers reserve the right to withdraw runners who have not made sufficient progress through checkpoints. Competitors should ensure they have the required level of fitness to complete the course. Minimum age on the day is 17.
Race numbers include timing chips on the reverse. Runners must fill in the reverse of their number with emergency contact details and any medical conditions. Affiliated entry fee is £20 and unaffiliated entry fee is £22. Affiliated runners should bring their affiliation card or have affiliation details on their phone.
There is no parking on site. Nearby parking options include Simon Plastics and roads on Hatchmoor Industrial Estate (postcode EX38 7HP), the school sports car park a few minutes' walk down the road (EX38 7BU) or the town car park about one mile from race HQ on South Street (EX38 8AE, RingGo payment number 54516). Showers should be available after the event. Refreshments will be available at HQ and the adjacent rugby club bar will open in the middle of the day.
Prizes are awarded for top three overall male and female, and Vet male and female 40+, 50+ and 60+. Proceeds will be split between Devon Air Ambulance and Little John's House.
