Mud Madness - Chatelherault

Mud Madness 2026 takes place on 4 October 2026 at Chatelherault Country Park and is organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture. The event includes mud runs, water slides, various obstacles and a dip in the river Avon.

Distances

  • 1 km mini mud run (age 4-11)
  • 5 km family mud run, primary age and above, under 8s must be accompanied

The course is marked with signs, tape and arrows. Marshals in high visibility clothing are positioned around the route and can assist with first aid if required. Obstacles and water hazards feature on the 5 km route. The children’s 1 km route is on the lawn with marshals at each obstacle; adults may jog around the taped route to cheer or offer assistance by passing under the tape.

At registration each runner receives a Mud Madness t shirt. Medals, water and a snack are provided at the finish. Storage tags will be available at registration and a bag drop area is arranged on the lawn.

Parking is provided on site at the Play Park and BBQ Area; participants are asked not to use the Function Car Park beyond the house. Toilets are available in the Visitor Centre. There are no changing facilities or showers; participants are advised to bring dry clothes and protection for car seats.

Photography and video recording may take place; opt-out wristbands can be requested at registration or from staff on the day. Group and club discounts are available through the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
