MTC Will-o-the-Wisp

The MTC Will-o-the-Wisp is a one-day ultra covering approximately 37 to 38 miles from Liskeard to Truro. The route follows the same course used by the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distances. The race also serves as Day 12 of the MTC Albion thirteen day end-to-end of England series.

Entry is limited to 20 regular competitors with an additional allowance of 20 Albion entrants, creating a maximum field of 40. All entries and deposits are non refundable; there is an option at checkout to upgrade to a race shirt and hi-viz jacket. Finishers receive a bespoke Will-o-the-Wisp medal and male and female champions receive trophies.

The event enforces mandatory kit and time requirements. Competitors must carry required equipment such as a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone and a basic first aid kit. Organisers provide individual tracking devices with SOS capability and will supply GPX and mapping information to entrants about four weeks before the race. Real-time tracking is available during the event via the organiser’s map link.

The race is cup free and competitors should bring a reusable cup. Cut-off times are based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; participants who fall below this minimum may be withdrawn. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
