MTC Boggart overview

The MTC Boggart is a single day ultra running event covering 38 miles. It forms Day 1 of the MTC ALBION thirteen day end to end of England series and follows the same route used for the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distances. The course runs from the Gretna Chase Hotel, Gretna Green to the Kings Arms Hotel, Penrith.

Field size is limited to 20 race-only competitors plus an allowance of 20 ALBION competitors, giving a maximum of 40 starters. The event enforces preset cut-off times based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 miles per hour; competitors who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. The race is cup-free; competitors should supply their own reusable cup.

All finishers receive a bespoke Boggart medal; male and female champions receive trophies. Entry fees are non refundable. An optional Plus Race Package includes a race shirt and hi-viz jacket and must be purchased at least four weeks before the event to guarantee clothing supply. Maps and GPX files are supplied to entrants only and are emailed about four weeks before the race.

Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and an emergency food pack. Entrants must meet the organiser age requirement and comply with the organiser's rules and terms and conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
