Mount Jumbo Elk Ramble 15K
Run Wild Missoula presents an organized trail race on Mount Jumbo held on November 7, 2026. The event offers an in-person trail race and a separate virtual option, both covering the same roughly 15K course on City Conservation & Open Space Lands in the North Zone of Mount Jumbo. The in-person field is capped at 300 participants; the virtual field is capped at 35 participants.
The course starts and finishes at the Hellgate Soccer Fields and includes on-course aid stations equipped with porta potties, water, and gels located near miles 1.75, 4, and 8.25. The event is cupless; aid stations and the start/finish area will not provide disposable cups, but water and sports drink will be available to fill personal hydration devices.
Entry fees are non-transferable and non-deferrable. In-person registration tiers are listed for different date ranges and the virtual registration window runs from late July through mid-November; virtual participants complete the course between October 26 and November 16 and may not complete the course during the in-person Elk Ramble on November 7. Race services include chip timing, custom bibs, on-course aid, a collectible Elk Ramble dog tag, and a post-race baked potato with a cheddar roll. Dogs are not permitted except for ADA service animals on a non-retractable leash.
Beneficiary proceeds support Five Valleys Land Trust. Volunteer opportunities open in October. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
