Mount Jumbo Elk Ramble 15K
The Mount Jumbo Elk Ramble 15K is an organized trail race presented by Run Wild Missoula, held on November 7, 2026. The event is the only organized trail race on Mount Jumbo and follows a roughly 15K course on City Conservation & Open Space Lands in the North Zone of Mount Jumbo, with start and finish at the Hellgate Soccer Fields.
The in-person field is capped at 300 participants. Registration tiers are set by date with fees listed for early and later registration; Run Wild Missoula members receive a reduced fee. Bib pickup is offered the day before at the Run Wild Missoula headquarters and on race day at the race start location.
The event is a cupless race; participants may carry a handheld bottle or hydration pack. On-course aid stations provide water, sports drink, gels, and porta potties at approximately mile 1.75, mile 4, and mile 8.25. Timing is managed with chip timing. All participants receive a custom bib, on-course aid, and a collectible Elk Ramble dog tag; a post-race baked potato and cheddar roll are provided.
Awards are given to the top three overall in female, male, and non-binary divisions and to first place finishers in standard age groups ranging from 19 and under through 90 and above. Volunteer positions open in October. A virtual Elk Ramble option runs between October 26 and November 16, is capped at 35 participants, and includes event swag with local pick up.
