About the race
Mountain Tiger Diablo is a trail race in Clayton, California that follows a direct route to the Mount Diablo summit and back. The course is a loop of 12.4 miles that starts and finishes at the Mitchell Canyon visitor area with a short spur on Summit Trail to reach the summit.
The route includes about 4,000 feet of total ascent and descent. Runners climb approximately 1,700 feet in the first 2.5 miles via Eagle Peak, continue up Bald Ridge Trail to the summit, then descend roughly 4,000 feet over about 6 miles via Prospector's Gap and Back Creek Trail back to Mitchell Canyon. There is a 5:00 cutoff for the course.
Entry fees change by date: $95 plus fees until August 31, $105 from September 1, and $120 from October 1. Registration closes October 7. Entry includes group shuttle service between an off-site parking area and the start/finish area, entry to the post-race raffle, and a unique finisher's item. The event has a no refunds policy and accepts 2027 rollovers until September 1.
