Mountain Peacock 50k - Golden, CO
The Mountain Peacock 50k is a looped trail ultramarathon held in Golden, Colorado. The event covers a total distance of 50K and visits four local peaks: South Table Mountain, North Table Mountain, Mount Galbraith, and Lookout Mountain. Each loop starts and ends at Parfet Park, which serves as the event hub and the only official aid station.
The event is organized in a no-fee, informal "fat ass" style. The course is largely unmarked and self supported. At each summit there is a book; participants tear out a page at each summit as proof of visiting the peak. A route map is available from the organizers.
Participants are asked to register so organizers can estimate shared food, and to bring required personal items such as a gallon of hydration, a snack to share, navigation tools, and appropriate trail running gear. The event follows Leave No Trace principles and emphasizes personal preparedness for changing weather and mountain conditions. There is no official cut-off time.
The format accommodates runners who complete one loop or multiple loops on the same day. The event includes a simple shared aid setup at Parfet Park and minimal on-course support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
