Mount Helena Run

Mount Helena Run is a trail race in Helena, Montana, based at Last Chance Gulch and Broadway with a start location on the Walking Mall at Birds & Beaselys. The main race distance is 5.6 miles (9 km) and the course features about 1,300 feet of elevation gain and loss.

The route combines roughly 1.5 miles on road with over 4 miles on single-track trail, climbing Mount Helena and returning to historic Last Chance Gulch. The course offers views of the City of Helena, Prickly Pear Valley, and the Elkhorn and Big Belt Mountains.

Registration opens April 30, 2027 and closes August 31, 2027; the listed registration fee is $30 and a reduced fee is noted for registrations before September 1. Packet pickup takes place before the race. Event restrictions include no dogs and no strollers. Race swag is guaranteed only for the first 100 participants.
