Moonriver Night Race
Moonriver Night Race is a night-time fell race in the Dovedale valley, based at The Old Dog in Thorpe (DE6 2AT). The course is approximately 9.5 km with about 345 m of ascent and passes open fields, a rocky riverside trail, a woodland climb and undulating footpaths.
The event is licensed by the Fell Runners Association and governed by FRA rules. Full FRA kit is required, including a headtorch; a spare headtorch is recommended and a mobile phone is requested for emergencies. The use of GPS navigation or poles is not allowed and running with dogs is prohibited. Competitors must carry the mandatory kit listed in the race information and may be disqualified for rule breaches.
The event has a minimum age of 18 and a maximum capacity of 250 runners. Entry fees are listed as FRA member £12.00 and non member £14.00. Prizegiving includes individual and team prizes provided by Inov-8 Bakewell Store and Voom Nutrition across standard age and team categories. Recorded course times for 2025 are 00:40:08 for the fastest male and 00:45:37 for the fastest female.
