Moonriver Night Race
Moonriver Night Race is a night-time fell race held in the Dovedale valley with a mix of open fields, a rocky riverside trail, a woodland climb and undulating footpaths. The course distance is 9.5 km with 345 m of ascent.
Registration takes place at The Old Dog pub in Thorpe (DE6 2AT); registration opens at 17:00 and closes at 18:30. Parking is available at the pub, nearby Narlows Lane and Thorpe station car parks (pay and display, free after 18:00), and at the Peveril of the Peak hotel (DE6 2AW).
Entry details include opening on 1 August 2026 and closing on 5 January 2027. Entry fees listed are £12 for FRA members and £14 for non members. The event is limited to a maximum capacity of 250 runners and has a minimum age of 18. Entries recorded at the time of listing were 129 participants.
The race is licenced by the Fell Runners Association and governed by FRA rules. Full FRA kit is required, including a headtorch; organisers advise carrying a spare headtorch and a mobile phone for emergencies. GPS navigation and poles are not allowed. Running with dogs is not allowed. Prizegiving includes individual and age-category prizes and team prizes, supported by Inov-8 Bakewell Store and Voom Nutrition.
