Monsal Mash
Monsal Mash is a trail running event around Monsal Head and Monsal Dale. The course begins with flat, fast trail running along Monsal Dale, then follows a direct line up and down Fin Cop before a final climb to the finish at Monsal Head. The distance is 9.5 km with about 500 m of ascent.
The event is licensed by the Fell Runners Association and governed by FRA rules. Competitors must carry the mandatory FRA kit; the requirement may be relaxed depending on conditions. The use of GPS navigation or poles is not allowed. Running with dogs is not allowed. Breach of the rules may result in disqualification.
Registration is at The Stables, Monsal Head, Bakewell DE45 1NL. Parking is limited; there is a large paid public carpark near registration with public toilets and limited street parking in Little Longstone. Do not park on Castlegate Lane B6465.
Entries open 1 August 2026 and close 28 October 2026. Minimum age is 18. Entry fees listed are £12 for FRA members and £14 for non members. Maximum capacity is 250 runners and entries recorded so far total 170. Prizegiving includes individual and team prizes across standard age categories and 3 person teams, with prizes provided by local sponsors.
