About the race
Monsal Mash is a new race for 2026 organised by Wainwright Running Ltd and sponsored by Rab. The course covers approximately 9.5 km with about 500 m of ascent. The route starts with flat, fast trail running along Monsal Dale, then follows a direct line up and down Fin Cop before a final climb to the finish at Monsal Head.
The event is licensed by the Fell Runners Association and governed by FRA rules. Competitors must carry the mandatory FRA kit listed in the race information; use of GPS navigation or poles is not allowed and running with dogs is prohibited. Breaches of these rules may result in disqualification.
Entry details include a minimum age of 18, a maximum field of 250 runners, and published entry fees of £12 for FRA members and £14 for non-members. Entries open 1 August 2026 and close 28 October 2026. The organiser notes limited parking near the venue, a large paid public carpark with public toilets close to registration, and limited street parking in Little Longstone; participants are requested not to park on Castlegate Lane (B6465).
