Lenape Trail Runventure
The Lenape Trail Runventure is a self-navigation trail challenge that covers 34 miles along New Jersey's Lenape Trail. The route passes through more than 19 parks and municipalities and includes a mix of road and trail sections.
Participants may enter as solo runners or as relay teams of 2 to 6 team members. The course is organized into six segments based on aid station locations. Aid stations are placed roughly 3 to 8 miles apart and provide snacks, coke, electrolytes, and water. Two vehicles will leapfrog the course to offer resupply support for varying paces. At about mile 18 the route passes through Bloomfield downtown, where cafes and corner stores are available as a secondary option.
Checkpoint and segment details:
- Start to checkpoint 1: 5.23 miles (+376 / -339 ft)
- Checkpoint 1 to checkpoint 2: 5.3 miles (+416 / -277 ft)
- Checkpoint 2 to checkpoint 3: 5.7 miles (+588 / -538 ft)
- Checkpoint 3 to checkpoint 4: 3.49 miles (+470 / -336 ft)
- Checkpoint 4 to checkpoint 5: 7.35 miles (+758 / -660 ft)
- Checkpoint 5 to finish: 8.13 miles (+1166 / -1556 ft)
Instead of a traditional medal, participants collect puzzle pieces at checkpoints; assembling all pieces at the end reveals the event medal.
