McCormick 24

McCormick 24 is a timed trail event at McCormick Forest Park on September 12, 2026. The event offers multiple timed options and runs on a measured loop through varied terrain.

The loop is approximately 2.25 mile long and gains roughly 320 feet of elevation per lap. The course begins on wide double-track and transitions to single-track. The first mile is generally runnable; the second mile contains the bulk of the climb along with pockets of technical terrain and views of a ravine overlooking the creek. Course markings are placed every 0.10 miles using clothes pins with reflectors and yellow and orange streamers.

The start/finish and the aid station are located in an open field about 0.10 miles from the main trailhead. Multiple canopy tents will be set up in this area, including a designated tent for runner use. Participants may bring their own canopy tents, though space is limited. Drop bags are permitted. The aid area will offer Skratch electrolytes and both hot and cold food items.

Parking options are nearby and can be limited; off-road parking is available near the trailhead, with additional parking across the street in the fire department lot and the fire department training lot. All participants receive a finisher award; belt buckles are awarded to anyone who runs 100 miles or more in their event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
