About the race
Dash Point Trail Run takes place at Dash Point State Park in Federal Way, Washington on March 20, 2027. The event offers two distances:
- 10K
- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
The course is a one-loop route; 10K runners complete one loop and half marathon runners complete two loops, with a short extra lollipop section on the half to reach the total distance. The route begins near a sandy beach and climbs away from the water to a high point near the Nightcrawler aid station at about mile 2.25, then returns mostly rolling downhill toward the finish. Trails run through lush forest with thick ferns and moss-covered trees and include a short set of stairs and several small bridges. Surfaces are described as non-technical, cushy singletrack.
Elevation gain is approximately 700 feet for the 10K and 1500 feet for the half marathon. Aid stations are placed on course; listed locations include miles 2.2 for the 10K and miles 2.2, 6.5, and 8.5 for the half. Trails remain open to other users during the event, including equestrians, pedestrians, and cyclists, and the course is marked at intersections.
Parking at the state park requires a Discover Pass. Parking at the park is limited; 10K runners are parked at Lakota Middle School and shuttled to the start area. Evergreen Trail Runs operates this event as cupless racing, so runners must carry a refillable container. Every finisher receives a handmade piece of finisher swag made with solar power.
