Marysville Marathon Festival
The Marysville Marathon Festival is a two-day trail running event held in Marysville, Victoria, based at Gallipoli Park. The routes run on valley trails and forest tracks, follow sections of the Steavenson River, and pass rivers, waterfalls and mountain lookouts.
The festival includes a wide range of distances, with courses shaping progressively into longer mountain climbs and technical descents for ultra distances. The event highlights include towering trees, fern gullies, the Steavenson Falls, crystal clear rivers and panoramic views from higher lookout points. Official course maps and GPX files are provided for each distance.
The festival was established after the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires as an annual community event aimed at encouraging visitation and supporting the town’s rebuild. The event supports local businesses, community groups and volunteers. Trailsplus donates one dollar from every participant entry to Canteen Victoria.
Distances offered include:
- Kids Dash 1.5 km
- 4 km introductory trail run
- 7 km and 14 km KQOM options
- 10 km
- 21 km half marathon distance
- 42 km trail marathon
- 50 km ultra trail
- 100 km endurance ultramarathon
The festival is the fifth and final event in the Trailsplus Mountain Series and presents a community-focused atmosphere across two days of racing in Marysville. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
