Marshfield Mudlark

The Marshfield Mudlark takes place on Sunday 11 October 2026, with the event using Withymead Playing Fields in Marshfield, Chippenham as the start and finish location. The event is organised on behalf of Marshfield Primary School PTA and raises funds for the village school.

Distances and age categories:

  • Mudling 2 km: 2 km lap for ages 4+ through the fields.
  • Mudlite 5 km: off-road 5 km for ages 11+.
  • Mudlark 11 km: hilly 11 km course for ages 16+ through fields, lanes and St. Catherine's Valley.

Race results are recorded by DB Max. There are no entries on the day; entries must be made in advance. The routes cross private land and are open only for the duration of the race, with permission granted by local farmers.

The event includes refreshments from the PTA team such as teas, coffees, bacon sandwiches and cakes. The organisers allow entry name transfers at any time and offer a 50% refund of the ticket price up to one month before the event. Young KS1 children (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) are recommended to be accompanied by an adult or older sibling who can take responsibility if needed. Fundraising options include school sponsorship forms and a Race Nation fundraising page once an entry is confirmed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
