Marsh Peak Madness
Marsh Peak Madness is a trail endurance and speed event in Lapoint, UT, held at the Middle Mountain Corral trailhead near Gull Lake in the Uintah Mountains. The course is a 5 mile loop offering views of Marsh Peak and high mountain meadows with spring wildflowers.
The course features an elevation gain of 1,244 ft per 5 mile loop. There are several aid and water stations positioned along the route. The venue is a short drive from Vernal.
The event offers multiple formats:
- 12 hour endurance
- 6 hour endurance
- 5 mile speed run
For endurance entries, participants run repeated loops within a chosen time limit; only loops fully completed before the time limit count toward a total. The endurance winner is the participant with the most completed loops in their time limit. The speed run is decided by the first runner to complete the loop.
Course records are tracked for each format: a 12 hour record of 8 loops (40 miles), a 6 hour record of 4 loops (20 miles), and 5 mile speed times of 53:14 (male) and 57:36 (female). Cash prizes are listed for new course records: $100 for the 12 hour event, $50 for the 6 hour event, and $25 for the 5 mile speed run.
The event is organized by Mad Man Races. Entry prices are shown within the $76.01 to $128.20 range and registration closes Thu, Jun 3 @ 11:59PM MT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
